The Gratitude Attitude, Why its Important in Life

Helloooo Everybody!!!

Thanksgiving is HERE!! This is my second favorite holiday, second to Christmas, of course. šŸ˜šŸŒ²Amongst all the holiday madness like cooking and shopping, I challenge you to take time to show some gratitude.

We all know that holiday time is all about family, friends, food, and fun! Weā€™re thankful for all the yummy, delicious foodšŸ˜‹, and loving family and friends! So, have the gratitude attitude and tell your loved ones how grateful you are for them. Everyone likes to be appreciated!

And don’t forget the gratitude attitude should be shown to yourself as well! Take some time to reflect. Think about where you were in January, and where you are today. Chances are, you’re not where you were 11 months ago. For me, I’ve gotten a new certification, a promotion, tried some new things, explored new places, and even met some new people. I’m grateful to have experienced such growth this year in so many areas. And I’m grateful to myself for being such a hard worker and persisting through so many things that require self-discipline. (Its ok to be proud of yourself, people!)

And donā€™t forget to be grateful for the many, many things we take for granted. As a physical therapist, Iā€™m so grateful I have all my extremities and that they work…correctly!! Even simply being able to breathe fresh air and eat good food. God is so good. Simple things should not be taken for granted.

Every day, take time to write out things youā€™re grateful for.

If youā€™re new to this whole gratitude thing, try keeping a gratitude journal. Every day, take time to write out things youā€™re grateful for. It is proven to boost your mood and just give you a fresh perspective on life, especially when you havenā€™t had such a good day. Every day wonā€™t be good, but thereā€™s good in every day. Trust me!

Want to go the extra mile? Write a letter, and mail it to the person(s). Send them a card. This is a great surprise, and I am so sure theyā€™ll appreciate it.

Iā€™m thankful for all of you reading this.

Alright, thatā€™s all for now. Dr. Ly signing off. āœŒšŸ¾
